Lisa Greene, O.D.
Dr. Lisa Greene grew up in southern Illinois on her parents’ dairy farm. She attended McKendree University where she received her Bachelors in Biology. She then completed her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Missouri-St Louis. In 2008 she became the owner of the Biltmore Park Town Square location that relocated from Biltmore Square Mall in 2011. The new location has allowed more technology to be added to the practice. Her practice philosophy focuses on educating patients on how to best preserve their vision. She believes it is important for everyone to understand how their overall health impacts their vision throughout their lifetime. Each year she attends conferences on health and wellness as part of her continuing education. Dr. Greene is a member of the American Optometric Association, the North Carolina Optometric Society and the Mountain District Optometric Society. She is also a member of Leadership OD and the Optometric Nutrition Society. Dr. Greene has participated in 10 international clinics and many regional vision vans with OneSight. These clinics served the poor in each community and provided eyeglasses to them. Dr. Greene was honored to be selected for the inaugural panel of the OneSight Doctor Advisory Board. While on the board, changes were made to improve the level of care and quality of the eyeglasses provided. During a 2008 clinic in El Salvador, she established contact with an orphanage that cares for abused and neglected girls. Almas Unidas-Hearts United is the non profit that Dr. Greene founded in order to continue support abroad. Almas Unidas-Hearts United works to provide humanitarian aid to these young girls in the hope that they will be able to break out of the cycle of poverty and abuse. In Ecuador, the projects focus on children in one of the poorest communities of Isla de Trinitario. The school that serves these children lack the basic supplies such as books, paper and pencils. The goal is to help elevate the level of education for these children. Dr. Greene has one son who relocated to Richmond, Virginia for work after graduating from North Carolina State University.
